Open to candidates in any country; applicants must be able to work the hours needed to coordinate with a team based in the US. A global fitness coaching education organization is contracting an instructional designer to audit, improve and rebuild its existing library of online courses for coaches worldwide. The project covers 13 courses of varying length and includes reviewing full content packages for new courses before they are built. The contractor will work directly with the internal education content team and report to its head. This is a remote, part-time engagement.
Responsibilities
- Audit each course from the learner's point of view, covering structure, pacing, engagement, assessment, accessibility and overall experience, and deliver prioritized, practical recommendations for a non-designer to act on
- Flag outdated content, inconsistencies and gaps against the organization's methodology and brand standards, and recommend a targeted update or full rebuild for each course with an effort estimate
- Update existing Articulate Rise 360 courses or rebuild them, including knowledge checks and scenario-based assessments tied to real coaching practice
- Build courses with accessibility and localization in mind, and test SCORM publishing and LMS tracking, completion and credit reporting
- Review new course packages and recommend structure, interactivity, media and assessment approach, then build them in Rise 360
- Create reusable templates and style guidelines, and manage your own timeline across courses with regular progress updates
Requirements
- Five or more years of instructional design experience
- At least three years of hands-on Articulate Rise 360 experience within the past three years, including blocks, interactions and quizzes
- A portfolio of live Rise 360 courses, submitted with your application
- Experience auditing and redesigning existing courses, not only building new ones
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards, SCORM and adult learning models such as ADDIE, SAM or Merrill's Principles of Instruction
- Strong written communication and a track record of meeting deadlines in a remote contract setting. Experience with Articulate Storyline 360, video editing or localization workflows, or familiarity with fitness or certification-based education, is a plus
Open to applicants anywhere in the world.
